Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia in Deer Park, VIC, is seeking a values-driven Casual Sales Assistant to support day-to-day store operations and deliver an inspiring in-store experience for customers and the community.

Reporting to the Area Manager, this casual role is based in Deer Park and involves POS transactions, donation prep, merchandising, and delivering outstanding service while upholding TSA values of integrity, respect, compassion and diversity.

Qualifications

• Retail sales experience preferred but not essential.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work across locations in the retail area.

Responsibilities

• Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices.
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale.
• Assist visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Display stock in correct departments following policy.
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures.

About The Role

An opportunity for a talented, values-driven Casual Sales Assistant to support day-to-day operations and contribute to an inspiring in-store experience for our team, customers and community members.

Reporting to the Area Manager, this casual role is based in Deer Park, VIC.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Retail General Industry Award, Level 1.

Key Responsibilities

• Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale.
• Assist in the development and coordination visual merchandising and store presentation
• Provide exceptional Customer Service
• Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures
• Demonstrate TSA core values in all work related activities

About You

• Retail sales experience - highly regarded but not essential
• Strong customer service skills
• Genuine passion and ability to deliver outstanding results
• Alignment with our values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity
• High energy, hand-on individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibly to work a rolling roster including weekends
• Preparedness to work across various locations in the retail area
