Job summary

Australian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is seeking a Personal Care Worker for Home Care in Katherine, NT on a casual ad hoc basis. You will travel to clients’ homes, delivering personal care, light domestic tasks, and support with meals, mobility and daily activities.

Visa sponsorship is not available. Applicants should have a Certificate III in Aged Care or related field, a willingness to obtain a Food Handlers certificate, and a reliable, fully insured vehicle.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Care, Disability or Home and Community Care – With preference given to applicants who completed the ‘Assist Clients with Medication’ elective.
• Hold or willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate to the standard of 3.2.2A.
• Demonstrated experience in assisting with activities of daily living in a community or Home Care setting.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse team environment.
• Ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions.
• Personal registered and fully comprehensive insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Travel to people’s homes to provide care and support within the consumer’s home environment.
• Undertake cleaning, bed making, personal care including grooming, showering, mobility and assisting with meals.
• Assist with social support, taking consumers to appointments and shopping.
