Job summary

ARRCS is hiring a Personal Care Worker for Home Care in Katherine on a casual, ad hoc basis. You will travel to clients' homes to deliver personal care, daily living support and companionship, aligning with individual care plans and funding arrangements.

Ideal candidates have a Certificate III in Aged Care/Disability, with mandatory checks and a reliable vehicle. Visa sponsorship is not available. Benefits include salary increases under the Enterprise Agreement and access to training resources.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certificate to standard 3.2.2A recommended.

About the role

We have a new opportunity for a qualified and experienced Personal Care Worker to join our Home Care Team in Katherine, NT. This role is available on an ad hoc casual basis only – Meaning, you will be offered shifts only when available – There is not permanent roster provided. This role attracts an hourly rate of $37.26 - $38.72 / hour + 25% casual loading (dependent on skills and experience).

Your role as Personal Care Worker will see you travelling to people’s homes and providing care and support within the consumers home environment, undertaking cleaning, bed making, personal care including grooming, showering, mobility and assisting with meals. You may also be required to assist with social support, taking consumers to appointments and shopping.

As the ideal candidate, you will bring previous experience in either Aged or Disability care. You will be comfortable travelling to people’s homes to provide this care and able to retain a fully insured and reliable vehicle. You will have a caring and understanding approach, whilst also able to understand a client’s care-plan and delegated services provided by their My Aged Care funding. You will enjoy travelling to people’s homes and providing a service with strong customer service attitude and respect.

Skills & experience

• Minimum of a Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Care, Disability or Home and Community Care – With preference given to applicants who completed the ‘Assist Clients with Medication’ elective.
• Hold or willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate to the standard of 3.2.2A.
• Demonstrated experience in assisting with the activities of daily living in a community or Home Care setting preferably, however, not essential.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and both verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment.
• An ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions related to the role.
• Personal registered and fully comprehensive insured vehicle.

ARRCS mandatory compliance

• You must have or lodged a National Police Check within the last 3 months.
• Provide evidence of current Influenza Vaccination.
• NDIS Workers Screening check received or lodged.
