Job summary

Yungaburra Community OSHC is seeking a friendly, caring Casual OSHC Educator to join a small, community-focused team based at Yungaburra State School. You will help deliver Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care, fostering a warm, inclusive environment where children feel safe, valued and engaged.

Applicants should have experience with children, be reliable and enthusiastic, and ideally hold relevant training such as First Aid, CPR and a WWC Blue Card.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold or be willing to obtain a valid Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
• First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
• Child Protection training via Geccko.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children, preferably in OSHC, childcare, education or a similar setting

• Is warm, reliable, enthusiastic and positive

• Genuinely enjoys engaging with children aged 4–12 years

• Can confidently support children's wellbeing, behaviour and individual needs

• Enjoys participating in play, games, creative activities and outdoor experiences

• Works well as part of a small, supportive team

• Builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues

About the role

As an OSHC Educator, you'll support our Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care programs, helping deliver engaging, child-led experiences based on children's interests.

You'll play an important role in creating a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment where children feel supported and encouraged to participate.

Formal qualifications are not essential, however applicants who hold or are working towards a relevant qualification are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications or studies in education, community services, allied health, sport and recreation or related fields may be advantageous.

Requirements

Hours and availability

This is a casual position, with opportunities to work across our Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care programs.

Our current priority is filling 1–3 After School Care shifts per week, with opportunities for additional hours as the service grows.

Typical shifts include:

• After School Care: 2:30pm–5:30pm (current primary need)

• Before School Care: 7:15am–9:15am (opportunities as numbers grow)

• Vacation Care: Varied shifts between 7:30am–5:30pm during school holidays

Applicants must be available for some weekday afternoon shifts.
