GenesisCare in Albany, WA, is seeking a Patient Services Officer (Medical Receptionist) to warmly welcome patients, manage bookings and clinic schedules, and handle accurate billing and data entry in our oncology clinic.

As a casual role with flexible shifts, you will collaborate closely with clinicians and the care team to keep the patient journey smooth, confidential and centered on delivering compassionate, high-quality care from first contact through discharge.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical reception or healthcare administration.
• Excellent communication and a warm, professional approach.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Confident handling patient enquiries in person and over the phone.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible and adaptable in a busy clinical environment.
• Knowledge of patient billing systems and Medicare requirements would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Be a welcoming first point of contact for patients and carers, providing friendly and professional service in person and over the phone.
• Manage patient bookings, appointment confirmations and clinic schedules.
• Complete accurate billing and receipting at the time of appointment.
• Process referrals, correspondence and patient documentation accurately and confidentially.
• Maintain patient records and complete accurate data entry.
• Support the smooth day to day running of the clinic.
• Respond to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of patient service.
• Work closely with clinicians and the broader team to support an efficient and coordinated patient experience.
