Job summary

The Doctors Mulgrave Road Medical Centre is seeking a compassionate and proactive Medical Receptionist to join our team on a casual basis. This role goes beyond traditional reception duties and includes supporting our Allied Health team and coordinating Employment Medicals.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, confident managing multiple tasks, and committed to delivering exceptional patient and client service.

Qualifications

• Citizenship or Permanent Residency is essential.
• Current Full QLD Driver Licence.
• A collaborative mindset with a willingness to take direction, follow procedures, and actively support your colleagues.
• A polite, empathetic, and professional manner.
• Experience with Best Practice is a bonus, but not essential.
• The ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment with an enthusiastic disposition.
• Excellent time-management skills and pride taken in both written and verbal communication.
• A strong commitment to on-the-job training, ongoing learning, and continuous professional development.

Responsibilities

• Greeting patients warmly, assisting with kiosk check-ins, and managing face-to-face enquiries.
• Answering incoming calls and managing emails efficiently while working from our offsite call centre.
• Booking appointments using Best Practice software and accurately managing health records (importing/exporting documents).
• Assisting doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals with administration, third-party stakeholder communication, and general data entry.
• Liaising with external service providers, including allied health specialists and aged care facilities, to assist with seamless patient care management.
• Maintaining the general cleanliness and upkeep of practice areas in line with strict infection control guidelines. This includes restocking clinical supplies and assisting nursing staff with basic treatment room preparation and cleaning.
• Supporting Employment Medicals, including bookings, administration, and liaison with clients and providers.
