Job summary

Lakeside Hotel and Conference Centre, located at Macquarie University in North Ryde, is hiring a Front Desk Receptionist. You will greet guests, handle enquiries, and support service teams while ensuring smooth check-ins and check-outs in a busy hotel environment.

The role requires a customer-service mindset, professionalism, and flexible availability including mornings, evenings, and nights. Training, staff discounts, and access to campus facilities are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in front desk and customer service roles in hospitality.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities.
• Well-presented with attention to detail and cultural awareness.
• Good time management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using MS Office and Opera PMS is a plus.
• Cash handling and transaction processing familiarity.
• Able to work AM, PM, and night shifts when required.

ABOUT YOU

You are someone who believes the core of hospitality is customer service and you are a true follower of the same cause. Being an honest, reliable, and confident person, you know how to handle multiple tasks at the same time and are able to do so with a friendly, warm personality.

Desired Criteria

• Understanding of the hotel and hospitality sectors.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Well-presented with keen attention to detail and cultural sensitivity/awareness.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs and knowledge of Opera Property Management System.
• Previous front office, customer service and/or sales experience in a hotel environment.
• Demonstrated customer complaints management/resolution experience.
• Demonstrated experience building and managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders
• Cash handling and transaction processing experience.
• Flexible to work AM, PM and Night when required

This role requires successful applicants to undergo a Criminal History Check and must have the right to work in Australia.
