Job summary

Shellharbour City Council is seeking Civic Centre Functions Staff to support our Venues and Activations Team in delivering vibrant community events.

You will assist with coordinating events, setting up and packing down rooms, and supporting AV requirements to ensure successful functions. Casual opportunities offer flexible hours across days, evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Front-facing customer service experience in hospitality or events.
• Ability to deliver smooth event functions and setup.
• Proactive, reliable team player with adaptability in fast-paced environments.
• Basic knowledge of AV equipment; training provided.

Are you passionate about events, activations and creating engaging community spaces? Shellharbour City Council is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Civic Centre Functions Staff to join our dynamic Venues and Activations Team.

This is your chance to play a key role in maximising the use of the Shellharbour Civic Centre through vibrant activations, professional event delivery and community-focused goals.

About the role:

• Assisting with the coordination and professional delivery of events and functions at the Shellharbour Civic Centre.
• Setting up and packing down rooms for various functions and events.
• Assisting with the setup of the inhouse audio and visual requirements to ensure seamless event execution.

About you:

• A strong focus on customer service and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Hospitality or events experience – you understand what it takes to deliver a smooth and successful function.
• A proactive and reliable team player who can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of AV equipment setup (training can be provided).
