Shellharbour City Council is seeking a Team Leader - City Presentation to lead cleaning and maintenance across public spaces, including streets, assets, and boat ramps. The role is hands-on and focuses on coordinating daily operations and supporting team performance to ensure assets are safe and well-presented for the community.

You will organise resources, drive improvements in our quality system, and develop team members while fostering a strong community service ethos within the Council.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Civil Construction and Maintenance or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in general cleaning practices and rubbish removal in public spaces.
• Experience in civil construction activities including concreting, drainage, and road construction.
• Strong leadership with focus on staff development and performance management.
• Excellent communication with team members and the community.

Job description

Lead the team that helps keep Shellharbour looking its best. As Team Leader - City Presentation, you will oversee the delivery of essential cleaning and maintenance services across the city's public spaces, including street and public asset cleaning, street furniture maintenance, boat ramp cleaning, and rapid response works.

This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supporting team performance, and ensuring Council assets remain safe, functional, and well-presented for the community.

As a leader, you will be responsible for organising resources, managing your team’s performance, and implementing improvements within our quality management system. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact while supporting the development of your team members.

About you:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced individual who thrives in a team environment and possesses a strong commitment to community service.

• Certificate III in Civil Construction and Maintenance or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in general cleaning practices and rubbish removal throughout public vicinities.
• Experience in civil construction activities including concreting, drainage, and road construction.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on staff development and performance management.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with team members and the community.

• Permanent full time, 38 hours per week with the opportunity to work a 9 day fortnight
• Commencing salary range from $1358 - $1500 per week (dependent on qualifications and experience)
