Job summary

Shellharbour City Council is seeking Civic Centre Functions Staff to join the Venues and Activations Team to deliver events at the Civic Centre.

Casual opportunities with flexible hours across days, evenings and weekends; starting salary is $40.11 per hour (including casual loading) with additional benefits such as novated leasing, retail discounts, corporate fitness programs, EAP and learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented with a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Hospitality or events experience required.
• Proactive team player who adapts quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of AV equipment; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and professionally deliver events and functions.
• Set up and pack down rooms for functions and events.
• Assist with in-house AV setup to ensure seamless execution.

Are you passionate about events, activations and creating engaging community spaces? Shellharbour City Council is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Civic Centre Functions Staff to join our dynamic Venues and Activations Team.

This is your chance to play a key role in maximising the use of the Shellharbour Civic Centre through vibrant activations, professional event delivery and community-focused goals.

About the role:

• Assisting with the coordination and professional delivery of events and functions at the Shellharbour Civic Centre.
• Setting up and packing down rooms for various functions and events.
• Assisting with the setup of the inhouse audio and visual requirements to ensure seamless event execution.

About you:

• A strong focus on customer service and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Hospitality or events experience – you understand what it takes to deliver a smooth and successful function.
• A proactive and reliable team player who can adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of AV equipment setup (training can be provided).
