Job summary

Mayfield Early Education Brinsmead is seeking a passionate Casual Educator to support a nurturing, child-centred learning environment in Cairns, Queensland. You will work with our team to implement age-appropriate activities, address individual learning styles, and maintain open communication with families while upholding strong child safety standards and inclusive practices.

Applicants should hold a Certificate III in ECEC (or ACECQA approved equivalent) and a current Blue Card.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in ECEC or ACECQA approved equivalent.
• Blue Card and WWCC compliance (or willing to obtain).
• Training in Child Protection / Red Nose / Food Safety.
• Understanding of NQF & EYLF.

Responsibilities

• Ensure child safety & wellbeing with active supervision.
• Collaborate on age-appropriate curriculum implementation.
• Provide personalized attention to diverse learning needs.
• Guide behaviour with positive reinforcement for social development.
• Maintain open communication with parents on progress.
• Participate in team meetings for a cohesive approach to early childhood education.
• Foster an inclusive environment respectful of diverse backgrounds.

The Opportunity

Our Brinsmead Centre has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Casual Educator to join our incredible team!

As an integral part of the Mayfield team, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and educational environment for the children in our care.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring child safety & wellbeing using your active supervision skills.
• Collaborating with the team on age-appropriate curriculum implementation.
• Providing personalised attention, addressing unique learning styles and needs of the children in our care.
• Guiding behaviour through positive reinforcement for social and emotional development.
• Maintaining open communication with parents about a child's progress and concerns.
• Actively participating in team meetings for a cohesive approach to early childhood education.
• Fostering a positive, inclusive atmosphere embracing diverse backgrounds in a culturally sensitive manner.
  

You

• Working towards or hold a minimum of a Certificate III in ECEC (of ACECQA approved equivalent);
• Valid Blue Card
• Child protection / Red Nose / Food Safety training (or willing to obtain);
• Working knowledge & understanding of Child Safe Standards
• Working knowledge & understanding of NQF & EYLF.
• Passion for the Early Childhood sector - you will enjoy communicating with and building trusted relationships with children, their families, your teammatesand the wider community.
