Job summary

Scope Australia is seeking a hands-on Supported Independent Living (SIL) caregiver to support four clients with complex physical and intellectual disabilities in an on-site home in NSW. The role involves personal care, manual handling and the use of hoists, requiring a proactive, nurturing approach and ability to handle complex behaviours.

The position offers casual rates from $44.39 per hour plus penalties, salary packaging benefits, and opportunities to work across three SIL sites.

Qualifications

• Must have regular access to own car and NSW P2 driver's licence or higher.
• Flexible availability across a 24/7 roster including mornings, afternoons, split shifts and sleepovers.
• Comfortable with hands-on, physically demanding tasks in SIL settings.

Responsibilities

• Support adults with complex disabilities in an independent living model.
• Follow positive behaviour support and care plans as directed by clinical teams and site managers.
• Encourage capacity building in skills such as hygiene, domestic duties, using public transport and community access.
• Promote choice and participation in daily routines, goals and interests.
• Work well within a team to provide a safe environment for clients.
• Be proficient in computer skills and report writing.
