Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a compassionate Independent Carer/Disability Support Worker in Leppington, NSW. This casual role requires one-to-one support for a 65-year-old lady with disability and aged care needs. Friday and Saturday shifts with flexibility for other days when gaps arise.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility support, meal prep, companionship, and transport to appointments. Requirements include a current driver's license, own car, and First Aid and NDIS checks.

Qualifications

• Current Driver's License and own car required.
• Experience in aged care, disability support, or related community services preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and ability to build rapport with clients and families.
• Ability to work independently and follow a daily schedule.

Responsibilities

• Follow and implement activities within daily schedule.
• Provide personal care including hygiene, grooming and dressing.
• Support mobility and movement per Allied Health recommendations.
• Assist with household tasks, meals, and ensuring a safe living environment.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to promote wellbeing.
• Arrange or accompany to medical appointments and outings using own car.
• Monitor client health and report any changes to family or supervisors.
• Communicate effectively with client and family while respecting privacy.
• Respond calmly to changing needs and respect client autonomy.
