Job summary

Camden Care is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker in Greystanes, NSW for casual shifts. You will provide person-centred care, assist with daily living activities and accompany clients to appointments and activities.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting people with disabilities and delivering person-centred care.
• Certificate III/IV in Disability Support or willingness to undertake this qualification.
• Experience in disability/aged care or community services is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Patience, empathy and a non-judgmental attitude.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Sound safeguarding, duty of care and confidentiality principles.
• Physical capability for mobility tasks.
• Working with Children Check or state clearance.
• Reliable transport to Greystanes and community locations.
• Flexible approach to casual work with varying shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
• Support individuals with activities of daily living and community participation.
• Assist with meal preparation and nutrition support tailored to individual needs.
• Accompany service users to medical appointments, social activities and community outings.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of support provided and any concerns or observations.
• Communicate effectively with service users, families, carers and the wider support team.
• Promote independence and encourage individuals to develop new skills and confidence.
• Respond promptly and professionally to requests and unexpected situations.
• Follow all relevant policies, procedures and safeguarding protocols to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
