Job summary

The City of Greater Geelong is seeking a casual Customer Service Officer to join three service centres and the call centre. You will be the first point of contact, delivering prompt, professional service across phone, face-to-face and online channels.

You will handle enquiries, learn Tier 0 online options, assist with initial inquiries, and refer to Tier 2 as needed. Flexible hours and shifts are available, with potential for extra work to support demand.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated experience in customer service.
• Ability to use modern office software and keyboard skills.
• Experience in the handling and/or reconciliation of monies.
• Flexible and available to work across 3 customer service centres and our call centre, including after-hours when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customers with a proactive and seamless experience meeting transactional needs and offering service knowledge.
• Educate and support customers to become comfortable with Tier 0 (Online) services.
• Assist customers with initial enquiries and refer to Tier 2 (Managed support) when necessary.
• Facilitate conversations and initiate processes (eg – accessibility parking permits) with other government agencies and third-party providers.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to meet customer needs.
