Job summary

The William Inglis Hotel - MGallery Collection in Sydney, NSW is seeking casual Chefs to join our kitchen team across the hotel’s restaurants, bars and event spaces. You will support daily operations, prepare and cook menu items to high standards, and help with menu development, presentation, and portion control.

These casual roles may turn into full-time positions for the right candidates; on-site work is required and a strong focus on food safety and guest satisfaction is essential.

Qualifications

• Formal culinary training or relevant commercial kitchen experience.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and modern presentation styles.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations, and safe work practices; certification is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with varying shifts.
• Good communication skills and a guest-focused approach when interacting with colleagues and guests.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items to a high standard across hotel restaurants, bars, and event spaces.
• Assist with menu development and specials and ensure consistent presentation and portion control.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards and support stock control and ordering.
• Collaborate with the wider food and beverage team to deliver exceptional guest experiences during service, banquets, and events.
• Contribute to a positive, fun kitchen culture and support peak periods, including weekends and holidays.
