Job summary

Spotless is seeking a Casual Chef to join the Adelaide Immigration Detention Centre team in Kilburn, SA. You will prepare culturally diverse meals, maintain kitchen hygiene, and support stock control under the Catering Manager.

Ideal candidates hold Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, and WWCC, with strong communication and teamwork to ensure high-quality outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or higher in Commercial Cookery.
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Working with Children Check (Employee) – mandatory or willing to apply.
• Knowledge of menu and nutritional standards.
• HACCP Food Safety guidelines understanding.
• Exemplary bulk cooking skills (aged care or resources experience ideal).
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and prepare food as directed by Catering Manager, maintain cleanliness.
• Monitor HACCP compliance and complete hygiene documentation.
• Manage stock, FIFO, and temperature control for perishables.
• Contribute to safety and quality improvement culture.
