Job summary

Cabrini Health in Melbourne's southeast is seeking a passionate Chef for casual shifts at Cabrini Malvern location. You will join the team to prepare quality meals and deliver compassionate food service to patients and residents, working with the Head Chef and broader kitchen team.

Key duties include cooking, dietary meals, room and dining room service, maintaining HACCP standards, and collaborating with clinical staff to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar role.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and dietary requirements.
• Strong teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
• A flexible, proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook quality meals, including special dietary meals and function catering.
• Deliver friendly, compassionate food and beverage service, including room service and dining room service.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, HACCP compliance and kitchen cleanliness.
• Manage food storage and stock rotation to ensure quality and minimise waste.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and healthcare teams to support excellent patient and resident care.
• Contribute to workplace safety, quality improvement and efficient kitchen operations.
