Job summary

Cabrini Health Malvern Hospital is seeking experienced Patient Food Service Assistants for casual roles to support meal ordering, food preparation and patient service. Shifts cover 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM across seven days including weekends and public holidays.

Ideal applicants hold a Food Handlers Certificate, have knowledge of dietary codes, and demonstrate strong English communication. Join a mission-led team focused on patient experience and quality care.

Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to undertake)
• Knowledge of culinary and nutritional terminology including diet codes (preferable)
• Experience in a food service industry or service industry of at least 12 months will be highly regarded
• Willingness to learn and be given directives
• Well-developed communication skills including proficiency in written and spoken English
• Flexible approach to work and be adaptable in a fast paced environment
• Interpersonal skills to build positive and professional relationships with patients and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Assisting patients with menu ordering
• Preparation of food for our patients
• Cleaning of kitchen and equipment
• Providing service to patient rooms and associated areas
• Working with other hospital team members to optimise safety, care and overall patient experience
