Job summary

Cabrini Health in Melbourne's southeast is seeking a casual Kitchen Hand/Pot Wash at Cabrini Hospital Malvern to support patient food preparation and maintain high standards of cleanliness. You'll assist in food prep, wash dishes and ensure safe handling of deliveries, requiring flexible shifts across days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

A Food Handlers certificate is preferred, with opportunity for training and career growth.

Qualifications

• Be reliable, team-oriented and committed to safe practices and quality standards.
• Hold a Food Handler's Certificate (or willing to undertake at Cabrini).
• Knowledge of culinary and nutritional terminology including diet codes (preferable).
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in food preparation and retrieving of food items as requested by the chefs.
• Cleaning all surface areas, kitchen equipment and appliances including ovens and range-hoods.
• Washing dishes, including utensils and large pots, as well as other cooking equipment.
• Removing rubbish and wash out bins.
• Receiving and storing of food deliveries (heavy lifting involved) and providing coverage for the storeperson where required.
