Job summary

Dune Café on the Gold Coast is seeking an experienced casual Chef to join the team. The role emphasizes good communication, a team mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen.

Key duties include coordinating with Senior Chefs, minimizing wastage, ensuring portion control, and maintaining food quality and hygiene with the Head Chef. Applicants should hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and have Australian working rights.

• Proven experience in a high volume kitchen
• Available to work approximately 25+ hours per week, from 7.00am to 3.00pm (no nights!)
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Be reliable and punctual
• Working rights for Australia

Responsibilities

• Liaise with Senior Chefs regarding preparation work-flow requirements
• Carry out preparation tasks with an emphasis on minimal wastage
• Production of menu items in accordance with portion control standards
• To work cohesively with the front of house team to ensure meals are produced in a timely manner
• Monitor and ensure food quality and hygiene standards are maintained, reporting any concerns to the Head Chef
