Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a passionate Doorways Case Worker to support individuals and families facing disadvantage and financial hardship. You will conduct assessments, build tailored plans, and connect clients with services to promote independence.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, this permanent part-time role (4 days a week) is based in Miranda, NSW, with SCHADS Level 4 pay. You’ll collaborate with teams, volunteers, and local providers to create lasting community impact.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Human Services, or a related discipline or a Diploma with two years’ experience.
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and families through case management or community services.
• Current Working with Children Check and ability to work with diverse communities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred case management support to community members experiencing hardship.
• Conduct assessments to identify strengths, needs and goals.
• Develop and implement tailored case plans using strengths-based approaches.
• Provide advocacy and help clients access services and participate in their communities.
• Build relationships with internal teams, volunteers, service providers and stakeholders.

The Salvation Army Australia, we believe in walking alongside people to create positive and lasting change. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Doorways Case Worker to support individuals and families experiencing disadvantage, financial hardship, and social isolation.

As a Doorways Case Worker, you will work collaboratively with community members to identify their strengths, establish achievable goals, and connect them with the services and support they need to thrive. Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a permanent part-time position (4 days a week) based in Miranda, NSW.

Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 4.

How you will make an impact Deliver person-centred case management support to community members experiencing financial hardship and disadvantage. Conduct assessments to identify individual strengths, needs, and goals.

Develop and implement tailored case plans using a strengths-based approach. Provide advocacy and support to help people access services and participate in their communities. Build strong relationships with internal teams, volunteers, local service providers, and community stakeholders.

Facilitate referrals and connect clients to appropriate support services. Support applications for financial assistance programs including No

Interest Loans (NILS) and energy assistance. Maintain accurate records and client data in line with organisational standards and procedures. Contribute to continuous improvement and best-practice service delivery.

What You will bring A Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Human Services, or a related discipline; or A Diploma qualification with at least two years of relevant experience within the community services sector.

Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and families through case management or community-based services. Strong communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills. The ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
