Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a part-time Doorways Case Worker to support individuals and families experiencing disadvantage in Miranda, NSW. You will provide person-centred case management, identify goals, and connect clients with needed services.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role is permanent part-time (4 days/week) with SCHADS Level 4 pay. You will conduct assessments, develop tailored case plans, advocate for clients, and coordinate with internal teams and local providers

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Human Services or related field; or Diploma with 2+ years of relevant community services experience.
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and families through case management or community-based services.
• Strong communication, advocacy and relationship-building skills; ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders; Working with Children Check.

• Conduct assessments to identify strengths, needs, and goals.
• Develop and implement tailored case plans using a strengths-based approach.
• Provide advocacy and support to help people access services and participate in their communities.
• Build strong relationships with internal teams, volunteers, local service providers, and community stakeholders.
• Facilitate referrals and connect clients to appropriate support services.
• Support applications for financial assistance programs including No Interest Loans (NILS) and energy assistance.
• Maintain accurate records and client data in line with organisational standards and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and best-practice service delivery.

About the Role At The Salvation Army Australia, we believe in walking alongside people to create positive and lasting change. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Doorways Case Worker to support individuals and families experiencing disadvantage, financial hardship, and social isolation. As a Doorways Case Worker, you will work collaboratively with community members to identify their strengths, establish achievable goals, and connect them with the services and support they need to thrive. Reporting to the Regional Manager, this is a permanent part‑time position (4 days a week) based in Miranda, NSW. Salary is in accordance with SCHADS Level 4.

What You will bring

• A Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services, Human Services, or a related discipline; or
• A Diploma qualification with at least two years of relevant experience within the community services sector.
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals and families through case management or community-based services.
• Strong communication, advocacy, and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Current Working with Children Check.
