Job summary

The St Vincent de Paul Society NSW is seeking a Case Worker in the Homelessness & Housing Services team in the Eastern Suburbs. You will provide person-centred support to individuals who are homeless or at risk, delivering case management, advocacy and practical support to help them achieve stability and wellbeing.

You will work with clients and partners to develop tailored support plans, conduct intake assessments and help people access relevant services; a Certificate IV in Welfare or related

Your Role

Are you passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness and looking for your next opportunity within Vinnies? We're seeking expressions of interest from internal applicants for a Case Worker position within our Homelessness & Housing Services team in the Eastern Suburbs. As a Case Worker, you'll provide person-centred support to individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Working closely with clients and community partners, you'll deliver case management, advocacy and practical support to help people achieve greater stability, independence and wellbeing.

Your Responsibility
  • Provide case management and support to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
  • Complete intake and needs assessments and develop individual support plans.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, advocacy and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Conduct home visits for clients in temporary or transitional accommodation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community organisations and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and client records in line with organisational requirements.
  • Contribute to a safe, respectful and person-centred service environment.
You Will Need
  • A Certificate IV in Welfare, Social Work or a related discipline (or be currently studying).
  • Experience supporting people experiencing homelessness or other complex social issues.
  • Knowledge of homelessness, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, and family violence issues.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and advocacy skills.
  • The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
  • A current NSW Driver Licence.
