Job summary

Uniting Northaven, part of Uniting NSW & ACT, is seeking casual aged care workers to provide compassionate care and support to residents in our aged care home.

The role includes daily living assistance, medication support, and helping residents stay engaged in social activities.

Qualifications

• Certificate III/IV in Aged Care or equivalent.
• Experience in aged or community care preferred.
• Willing to undergo National Police Check and references.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents in the aged care home.
• Provide daily living assistance: showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meals, mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

What you’ll be doing in this role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings and
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who we’re looking for

• You’ll have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged if you have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
