Job summary

Uniting Wontama in Orange NSW is seeking a Care Service Employee to join our aged care team. You will provide care, companionship and support to residents, helping them maintain independence and dignity in daily living activities.

Casual positions are available with weekday availability; the role involves showering, personal hygiene, mealtimes, mobility, medication assistance and participation in community activities, with penalties and superannuation included.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Aged Care, Individual Support or equivalent.
• Experience in aged or community care preferred.
• Adaptable, empathetic and resourceful; living Uniting values.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Assist with daily living activities: showering, personal hygiene, dressing, meals and mobility.
• Assist with medication administration and simple wound dressings.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

• Up to $34.59 p/h + Casual Loading and Super
• Casual Positions available, lots of weekday availability for qualified care workers.

What You’ll Be Doing In This Role

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Who We’re Looking For

• Ideally, you'll have a Certificate IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, or equivalent qualification.
• You’ll have previous experience in aged or community care, or a passion to begin your career in aged care if you’re studying or have recently become qualified.
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
