Job summary

Uniting Yamba is seeking a compassionate Care Worker to provide person-centred care in our aged care home. You will support residents to maintain independence and quality of life in a safe, nurturing environment.

Roles include assisting with daily living activities, mobility, hygiene, meals, and medication support, on a rotating roster across Morning, Afternoon and Night shifts. Availability 5-7 days per week preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing) or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in Aged Care or Community Care (highly desirable).
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful; live Uniting’s values.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• Genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.

About Uniting Yamba

Uniting Caroona Yamba has five separate households, each with between 15–22 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Position Overview

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

This position requires flexibility to work across Morning, Afternoon & Night Shift on a rotating roster with the view to permanent set shifts. We do require you to have full availability 5-7 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life


• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility


• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings

Qualifications & Requirements

• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing) or Willing to obtain.


• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care. (Highly desirable, not mandatory)
