Job summary

Uniting Armidale is seeking a dedicated Care Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents in our aged care facility. You will support independence and comfort in a safe, nurturing environment, building meaningful connections with residents through daily living assistance and companionship.

Key duties include helping with showering, dressing, mealtimes, mobility, medication support, and enabling participation in community activities.

Qualifications

• Must have a Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support.
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care is highly desirable.
• Must have a good amount of availability.
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful while upholding Uniting’s values.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• Genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

About Uniting Armidale:

Surrounded by tranquil leafy gardens, Uniting Autumn Lodge is a warm and welcoming aged care home that has been supporting older people in Armidale for more than 60 years, building strong ties with the local community.

We provide high-quality, round-the-clock care for up to 114 residents in private rooms with shared communal spaces.

Our compassionate team works closely with residents to understand their individual care needs, tailor support to ensure comfort, and arrange engaging activities that are meaningful and enjoyable

Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must have a Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Support
