Job summary

Uniting is seeking a Care Worker to provide compassionate, person-centred care in our aged care facility in Goonellabah, NSW. Permanent Part-Time opportunities are available across morning, afternoon and night shifts; casual arrangements may be considered. A minimum of two days per week is expected.

You will assist residents with daily living, mobility and emotional support while promoting independence in a safe environment. National police and reference checks apply.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent qualification.
• Medication competency is desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience in Aged Care or Community Care is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Commitment to Uniting’s values: compassionate, respectful, imaginative and bold.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred care to residents to support independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities including showering, hygiene, dressing and mealtimes.
• Support with medications and simple wound dressings as needed.
• Encourage participation in community-based recreational and social activities.

Position Overview

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Permanent Part-Time opportunities are available across morning, afternoon and night shifts, with casual arrangements also considered. A minimum availability of two days per week is required.

Key Responsibilities

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification
• Medication competency (Desirable not mandatory)
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care (Highly Desirable, not mandatory)
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills
