Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT invites you to join our Yamba aged care home as a Care Worker, providing compassionate, person-centred support to residents to enhance independence and quality of life. Shifts and hours are negotiable and will be discussed during the interview.

You will assist with daily living activities, mobility, bathing, dressing, mealtimes, and basic wound care, while encouraging residents to participate in meaningful social and recreational activities.

Qualifications

• Must have Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing).
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to enhance independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living activities such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, mealtimes and mobility.
• Assist with medication and simple wound dressings as required.
• Support residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Shifts/hours negotiable based on availability and will be discussed during the interview.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (Ageing),
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care. (Highly desirable, not mandatory)
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
