Job summary

Uniting Goonellabah is seeking qualified PPT Care Workers to support our aged care residents across morning, afternoon and night shifts in a caring, community‑minded environment.

Permanent Part-Time opportunities are available with two days per week minimum; casual arrangements may also be considered. Training, development and a supportive team are provided to help you thrive in a meaningful role.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aging) or equivalent.
• Medication competency is desirable but not mandatory.
• Previous experience in aged or community care is highly desirable.
• Nursing students welcome; flexible availability can be discussed.
• Be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, with Uniting values of compassion, respect and inclusivity.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents to enhance independence and quality of life.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing and mealtimes.

Uniting Goonellabah is looking for qualified PPT Care Workers to support our aged care residents across morning, afternoon and night shifts in a supportive environment.

Conveniently located in the beautiful Goonellabah township, surrounded by an abundance of natural beauty. With four separate households, each with up to 20 residents. Your Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable.

Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

Permanent Part-Time opportunities are available across morning, afternoon and night shifts, with casual arrangements also considered. A minimum availability of two days per week is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent qualification.
• Medication competency (Desirable not mandatory)
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care. (Highly Desirable, not mandatory)
• Nursing students welcome to apply; flexible availability can be discussed.
