Job summary

Ozcare is seeking Care Assistants to join our Toowoomba Aged Care Facility on a permanent part-time basis. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance dignity and independence.

You will be supported with ongoing training, a generous benefits package including salary packaging options, five weeks annual leave and access to an Employee Assistance Program, creating a supportive environment where you can thrive.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
• Current Police Check within past 3 years
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• Influenza vaccination and at least one COVID-19 vaccination
• Experience with personal care and medication support
• Good computer literacy and use of mobile devices for care documentation

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised care per residents' care plans
• Assist with personal care activities (showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility)
• Support activities of daily living to promote independence
• Assist with medication administration per policy
• Observe and report changes in health and wellbeing
• Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation
• Collaborate with care team to deliver holistic care

Job description

Ozcare has permanent part-time opportunities available for Care Assistants to join our team at our beautiful Toowoomba Aged Care Facility.

As a valued member of our Residential Aged Care team, you will play an important role in supporting residents to maintain their dignity, independence and quality of life through the delivery of person-centred care in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Your Role

As a Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality care and support to residents while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team. Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing individualised care and support in accordance with residents' care plans
• Assisting residents with personal care activities, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility support
• Supporting residents with activities of daily living to promote independence and wellbeing
• Assisting with medication administration in line with organisational policies and procedures
• Observing, reporting and documenting changes in residents' health and wellbeing
• Maintaining accurate records and completing required clinical and funding documentation
• Contributing to a safe, clean and comfortable living environment for residents
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, residents, families and allied health professionals to deliver holistic care

Role Requirements

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing / Disability) or equivalent qualification
• Current National Police Check (valid within the past 3 years) or willingness to obtain one
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Current Influenza vaccination and at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination
• Demonstrated experience assisting with personal care and medication support
• Good computer literacy and confidence using mobile devices for care documentation
• Physical capacity to undertake the demands of residential aged care, including mobility assistance and manual handling tasks
