Job summary

BK Heart and Specialist Centre – Capalaba QLD is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to support a cardiology specialist clinic in a busy Capalaba location.

You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling front-desk duties, appointments, billing and records with a focus on confidential and compassionate patient service. The role offers full-time or part-time hours depending on availability and clinic needs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in medical reception or specialist practice administration.
• Gentu or ability to learn practice management systems quickly.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with empathy for patients.
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, manage check-ins and provide friendly reception.
• Answer calls, manage enquiries and coordinate appointments.
• Schedule consultations, follow-ups and other clinic bookings.
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
• Process referrals, billing and Medicare claiming tasks.
• Provide day-to-day admin support to clinicians and team.
• Assist with clinic operations and workflow improvements.
