Job summary

UTS is seeking a Central Services Officer within the Property Unit to keep campus safe, functional and well-presented. This hands-on role covers events, furniture moves, deliveries and campus maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience in hands-on physical work such as furniture moves, event setups and related deliveries.
• Willingness to undertake training in manual handling and operate workplace equipment.
• Ability to work in a flexible, busy team environment and respond to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and packing down major events including graduations, Open Day and exams.
• Moving, setting up and relocating furniture in classrooms, offices and public spaces.
• Setting up and maintaining outdoor furniture and public spaces across the campus.
• Loading, unloading and moving furniture, equipment, materials and deliveries.
• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies and hoists with safety procedures.
• Preparing redundant furniture and equipment for disposal.
• Assisting with minor grounds and campus maintenance tasks.
• Coordinating with contractors and event teams to complete jobs safely and on time.
• Coordinating casual staff during larger furniture moves and event setups.
• Assisting with mailroom, courier and delivery services as required.
• Completing work orders and basic documentation; recording tasks in computer systems.
