Job summary

Sirius College in Melbourne seeks a Career Development Practitioner to lead campus-based career development initiatives, linking subject choices to independent learning and workforce preparation. You will work with the Head of Career Development to tailor services for each campus and promote the Centre using innovative approaches.

Responsibilities include assisting students with VTAC admissions, coordinating college-wide work experience, and supporting parents in guiding their child’s career

Qualifications

• ACCE or CICA registration is required or strongly favoured.
• VIT registration desirable; WWC clearance if not registered is essential.
• Graduate certificate in career development education or Cert IV in career development education (or equivalent) endorsed by CICA.
• Minimum 12 months relevant experience.
• Knowledge of VTAC process and tertiary admission procedures.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with ability to address large groups.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head of Career Development and campus team to provide consistent service across campuses.
• Promote the Career Development Centre with innovative approaches.
• Assist students with VTAC admissions and other tertiary resources.
• Coordinate college-wide work experience programs to support future career choices.
• Schedule individual and group appointments for senior students on career/tertiary guidance.
• Support parents by providing unbiased guidance on career aspirations.
• Assist Year Level Coordinators to support students with low academic outcomes.
• Analyze campus trends in tertiary offers and student choices.
