Job summary

Frontline Recruitment Group in Canberra is seeking an experienced Cafe Supervisor to lead front-of-house teams across multiple busy cafe locations. You will drive guest experiences, coach staff, and ensure service standards align with the brand.

Ideal candidates bring hands-on leadership in a fast-paced hospitality setting, strong communication skills, and a commitment to food safety. This role offers a stable operation and the opportunity to develop team culture across several Canberra venues.

Qualifications

• Past experience as cafe Supervisor or senior supervisor in a busy cafe or hospitality setting.
• Strong knowledge of cafe operations and high-volume front-of-house service.
• Ability to lead, coach and motivate a team while maintaining high standards.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• RSA certified (food safety knowledge is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise front-of-house teams during busy cafe service periods.
• Ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service and product presentation.
• Conduct pre-shift briefings and maintain clear team communication.
• Assist with rostering, labour management and daily shift coordination.
• Coach, train and develop team members to uphold operational standards.
• Monitor cafe presentation, cleanliness and food safety/WHS compliance.
• Assist with cash handling, daily reporting and basic admin tasks.
• Collaborate with bakery and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service.
• Contribute to a positive team culture across Canberra locations.

Position Requirements

• Previous experience as a cafe Supervisor, Senior Barista/Supervisor or similar in a busy cafe or hospitality environment

• Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate a team while maintaining high standards
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills
• Ability to remain calm and decisive during busy service periods
• Current RSA essential (food safety knowledge highly regarded)
• Flexibility to work across multiple Canberra locations and a rotating roster (including early mornings and weekends)
• Reliable transport preferred due to multi-site requirements

Salary & Benefits

• $68,000-$75,000 + Super (depending on experience)
