Job summary

Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation is seeking a capable cafe cook to prepare all food items in a cafe setting, following recipes and presentation standards. You will set up the station per guidelines, perform line checks, and maintain inventory and stock levels throughout shifts.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years cooking experience, knowledge of food safety, and strong teamwork and time-management skills to thrive in a fast-paced hospital cafe environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of cooking experience.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, sanitation, and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items as directed, following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
• Set up station according to restaurant guidelines.
• Conduct line checks prior to service and fill out station inventory sheets at the end of service.
• Manage and maintain relevant prep and par levels.
• Restock all items as needed throughout shift.
• Clean and maintain station, practicing safe sanitation and organization.
• Ensure quality and safety of food through standard sanitation measures and proper storage.
• Respond promptly to requests and feedback; uphold a safe working environment.
• Contribute to positive kitchen morale.
