Job summary

Plaza Premium Lounge in Brisbane, Australia is seeking a Cook to prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes in line with recipes and safety standards. You will help ensure smooth daily kitchen operation and maintain hygiene and presentation.

The role requires kitchen or cleaning experience, ability to work under pressure, and flexibility to cover morning and night shifts. You will follow recipes, handle ingredients, and assist in opening and closing procedures while upholding food safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen or commercial cleaning role.
• Experience using industrial cleaning products and equipment correctly.
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Politeness and Friendly in manner.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts including morning and nights.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
• Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
• Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
• Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
• Occasionally serve food
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
• Handle and store ingredients and food
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils
• Execute opening and closing procedures; Set up workstations with required ingredients and equipment
• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients
• Monitor station inventory levels
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills and fryers.
