Job summary

Ymca Recreation at Warragul Leisure Centre is seeking casual food and beverage staff to prepare and serve, handle cash, and maintain a clean, safe environment. You will support events and promote healthy eating initiatives across the centre.

Experience in hospitality is welcomed, but training is provided. Applicants should be flexible for weekdays and weekends, with casual hourly shifts up to $33.05 plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Experience is desirable but not mandatory; any hospitality background is welcomed.
• Basic computer skills are preferred to support POS and scheduling.
• Barista and food preparation experience are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Based at Warragul Leisure Centre, you will prepare and serve food and beverages.
• Handle cash, maintain hygiene, and follow safety policies during events.
• Contribute to YMCA Healthy Food and Beverage policy promotions.

About the Centre

Warragul Leisure Centre has all you need in Aquatics, Health, Swimming Lessons and Children's programs.

Centre features include indoor and outdoor lap pools, warm water pool and children's splash pool. Group fitness, stadium sports, creche and accessible facilities.

About the role

Based at Warragul Leisure Centre, you will be responsible for food and beverage preparation and service including:

• Cash handling, food handling, cleaning and adhering to occupational health and safety within the café and catering for events.
• Will be highly motivated and passionate about food services.
• Commitment to the implementation and promotion of the YMCA Healthy Food and Beverage Policy.

This role is a casual position with an hourly rate of up to $33.05 + Super.

Please note: Desired availability weekdays and weekends.

About you

Experience is desirable but not mandatory, if you have any of the following skills we'd love to hear from you:

• Communication – Ability to communicate with a variety of people varying in age, ability and background
• Teamwork – Team focused attitude, with ability to work with a range of people to achieve outcomes
• Engagement – Ability to engage with customers to create an engaging and welcoming environment
• Previous experience in hospitality will be highly regarded
• Basic computer skills
• Barista experience desirable
• Food preparation experience desirable

• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
