Virgin Active is seeking an energetic Assistant Store Manager for U Health Cafe at Bondi Junction to lead the cafe team, drive operations, and create memorable member experiences. You will coach and support staff, ensure smooth daily operations and maintain service excellence in a fast-paced wellness venue.

You will foster a positive culture, manage rosters and stock, and contribute to sales and member satisfaction while supporting recruitment and training of the team.

• Experience leading a cafe, hospitality, quick service restaurant or retail food operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing cafe team that delivers genuine, memorable service.
• Create a positive and engaging culture where team members feel supported and inspired to grow.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the cafe runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.
• Bring structure, pace and attention to detail to a complex day-to-day cafe operation where the expectations are high and the experience needs to feel effortless.
• Manage rostering, labour requirements and daily workflow planning.
• Maintain stock levels, ordering processes and inventory controls.
• Monitor food quality, presentation and service standards to deliver an exceptional experience, every time.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members.
• Drive sales initiatives and spot opportunities to improve commercial performance.
• Manage labour, wastage and stock costs while protecting a premium member experience.
• Partner with the wider club leadership team to create one seamless end-to-end member experience.
• Step into leadership of the cafe when the Store Manager is away.
• Most importantly, you will create a space where members feel welcomed, recognised and cared for, every single day.
