Job summary

Virgin Active Bondi Junction is seeking an energetic Assistant Store Manager for U Health Cafe. You will be the right hand to the Store Manager, coaching the team, driving operational excellence and creating an environment where both team members and members love to spend time.

You are a hospitality leader who thrives on developing people, delivering brilliant customer experiences and balancing service with strong commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing cafe team that delivers genuine, memorable service.
• Create a positive and engaging culture where team members feel supported and inspired to grow.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the cafe runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.
• Bring structure, pace and attention to detail to a complex day-to-day cafe operation where the expectations are high and the experience needs to feel effortless.
• Manage rostering, labour requirements and daily workflow planning.
• Maintain stock levels, ordering processes and inventory controls.
• Monitor food quality, presentation and service standards to deliver an exceptional experience, every time.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training for new and existing team members.
• Drive sales initiatives and spot opportunities to improve commercial performance.
• Manage labour, wastage and stock costs while protecting a premium member experience.
• Partner with the wider club leadership team to create one seamless end-to-end member experience.
• Step into leadership of the cafe when the Store Manager is away.

Your Gig

As Assistant Store Manager, you will be the right hand to the Store Manager and a key leader within the cafe. You’ll coach and support the team, drive operational excellence and help create an environment where both team members and members love to spend time.
