Job summary

Glencore Australia in Mount Isa Mines is advertising a Cadet Surveyor role in the Technical Services team. The position is residential in Mount Isa, with a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off – 9 hour shifts, offering hands‑on exposure to mine surveying, spatial data management and underground operations.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will be studying surveying and may have exposure to mining or resources.
• Basic understanding of surveying principles and spatial data management.
• Exposure to survey software or CAD systems is advantageous.
• Strong willingness to learn and develop within the mining industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist Surveyors with underground survey activities and data collection.
• Process survey data within CAD systems and survey databases.
• Assist with void surveys, level traversing, stockpile surveys and development pickups.
• Support preparation and distribution of survey plans and reports.
• Participate in underground inspections and Technical Services rotations.
• Maintain safety compliance and actively develop surveying skills.
