Job summary

BVW Group, based on the Northside of Brisbane, is seeking a Cadet/Junior Contract Manager to learn the contracting process within a well-established glass and glazing manufacturer. You will be exposed to all levels of construction projects and work closely with senior estimators and project supervisors.

The role involves taking-offs, preparing estimates, site visits, vendor and subcontractor coordination, and contract administration for commercial glazing works across SEQ.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Completing take-offs from plans and formulating quotes using estimating software.
• Site inspections; valid driver's licence required (vehicle provided).
• Review plans, specifications and documents to determine scope and materials.
• Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers.
• Prepare variations and other project-related documents.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates and related documents.
• Administration and correspondence for projects.

Based on the Northside of Brisbane, BVW Group is a well-established Glass and Glazing manufacturer that has been operating for over 25 years with a strong track record. We supply and install primarily in the commercial space all aspects of facade and glazing works for large and small construction companies across SEQ and a bit beyond.

We are seeking a Cadet/Junior Contract Manager to join our team, where you will be provided experience and exposure to all levels of construction companies and projects of all types and sizes.

Summary:

The successful candidate will be assisting Senior estimators and Project Supervisors in their relevant duties. From preparation of accurate and timely estimates, to assisting in managing works and contract obligations for various construction projects.

Responsibilities:

Completing take-offs from construction plans, and use estimating software to formulate quotes

Site inspections as required (must have a current drivers licence, a vehicle will be provided to attend sites)

Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required

Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability of materials and services

Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients and suppliers

Preparation of variation and other project-related documents as required

Maintain accurate records of all estimates and related documents

Administration and correspondence as required for projects

Qualifications and requirements:

Undertaking study in a Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred but not essential

Enthusiastic attitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
