Job summary

BVW Group (Breezeview Windows) is a well-established fabricator and installer of commercial aluminium glazing, servicing all aspects of the construction industry for the last 25 years. We are seeking an estimator or sales rep to join the team in North Lakes, Queensland.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years in aluminium window and door estimating or sales, with strong plan interpretation skills, knowledge of Australian standards, and proficiency in LogiKal or V6.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in aluminium window/door estimating or sales.
• Strong understanding of plans, acoustic reports and energy reports.
• Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards for windows/facades.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Proficiency in LogiKal or V6 software.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans and specifications.
• Take-offs from architectural drawings.
• Review shop drawings and installation details.
• Collaborate with suppliers, contractors and project supervisors.
• Ensure projects meet specifications, regulations and contract provisions.
• Attend post tender meetings and submissions.
• Follow up on submitted tenders and quotations.
• Timely and accurate pricing of variations and adjustments during projects.
• Provide technical support to customers, fabrication team and project supervisors.

Job description

BVW Group (Breezeview Windows) is a well-established fabricator and installer of commercial aluminium glazing, servicing all aspects of the construction industry, from small renovations to large hi-rises in the South east corner for the last 25 years.

We are seeking an estimator or sales rep to come join the team.

Qualifications & experience

At least 3 years ‘experience in a similar role within aluminium window and door industry

Strong understanding of building plans, acoustic reports and energy report

Technical knowledge of building codes, and relevant Australian standards pertaining to windows, doors and facades.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Exceptional attention to detail

Enthusiasm to learn new processes and systems with a can-do attitude

Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team

LogiKal or V6 software knowledge is essential

Tasks & responsibilities

Read and interpret plans and specifications

Take off from architectural drawings

Review of shop drawings and installation detail drawings (prepared by draftsmen) in relation to quoted drawings and project supervisors

Work with suppliers, contractors and internal project supervisors to establish best offering

Ensure projects won are completed within required specifications, regulations, and contract provisions

Attend post tender meetings & submissions

Following up on submitted tenders and quotations

Timely and accurate pricing of variations and adjustments during projects

Provide technical support to customers, fabrication team and project supervisors when required

The ideal candidate will need an in-depth knowledge of Estimating processes, along with a good mixture of diligence, technical knowledge of systems and building practices along with a positive personality with great communication skills.
