An exciting opportunity for an experienced CAD Co-ordinator to work in a high performing team environment. Every new building, refurbishment and transformed learning space at Macquarie University starts with accurate, reliable data. As our CAD Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the digital information and technical systems that support the University’s built environment, enabling informed decisions across space planning, asset management and project design and delivery. This is an exciting opportunity within our Property Division, with a newly reclassified role that reflects the growing technical expertise required across CAD, BIM/Revit and Archibus. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact by strengthening CAD standards and governance, improving processes, and contributing to automation and system integration initiatives across these platforms. Working collaboratively with our Strategy & Planning and Project Management teams, as well as a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, consultants and contractors, you’ll help ensure our property data is accurate, consistent and fit for purpose. If you’re passionate about technical precision, digital innovation and improving the way information supports the built environment, this is your opportunity to shape the systems and standards behind the spaces where our university community learns, works and connects.
Reporting to the Space Planning Data Manager, you will manage and develop the University's CAD database, Archibus system and BIM/Revit models, ensuring data integrity, system quality and accessible, accurate drawing and asset information.
The Property Division assists the University in achieving its learning, teaching and research goals through planning, development and maintenance services for all University buildings and infrastructure, as well as managing a growing commercial property investment portfolio. Please note that work hours may vary from time to time to accommodate business needs. Macquarie University is a place of inspiration, a university known for its research excellence, progressive teaching and a campus set within 126 hectares of parkland. Our Property Division plays a defining part in that experience, planning and caring for the academic, research and commercial precincts that bring our community of students, researchers, clinicians and professional staff into one connected place. Here, technical expertise is valued, questions are welcomed, and good ideas are given room to grow.
You are a CAD and BIM specialist who takes pride in accuracy, consistency and well-governed data. You enjoy being the person others rely on for the correct drawing, and you look for better ways to organise, automate and present information. You work comfortably with consultants and contractors, translate their documentation into university protocols, and explain technical detail in plain language to non-technical colleagues.
