Job description

John Deere Technical Support Specialist | TECSight

John Deere Technical Support Specialist | TECSight

Full-Time | Rotational On-Call Roster | Flexible NSW Location

Ready to take your technical career in a new direction? Are you an experienced Agricultural, Construction or Forestry Technician looking for your next challenge? Want to step away from the physical demands of the tools while still using your technical knowledge, diagnostic skills and experience to solve real-world machinery problems? This could be your next career move.

Join Hutcheon & Pearce’s TECSight team and help keep John Deere machinery operating at its best through remote diagnostics, precision agriculture technology, machine monitoring and expert technical support.

What is TECSight?

TECSight is a specialist service provided by Hutcheon & Pearce that delivers fast, expert support for John Deere technology and machinery across NSW. Our TECSight specialists combine remote diagnostics, machine monitoring, precision agriculture, data and technical expertise to help customers and branch teams identify issues, optimise machinery and keep equipment productive. You’ll work closely with customers, technicians and branch teams, providing technical support and helping them get the most from the technology in their machines.

The Opportunity

As a TECSight Technical Support Specialist, you’ll use your existing technical experience in a new environment where technology, diagnostics and problem-solving are at the centre of your day. You’ll support our branches and customers across NSW, helping diagnose machine issues remotely, monitor machine performance, support Precision Ag technology and guide technicians and customers through technical challenges.

This is an opportunity to build your expertise in John Deere technology, precision agriculture and remote diagnostics, while remaining closely connected to the machinery and customers you know.

What you’ll be doing

  • Remote diagnostics: Assist branch technicians and customers to diagnose machine faults and identify practical solutions.
  • Precision Ag support: Provide support with displays, receivers, rate controllers and other John Deere AMS technology.
  • Machine monitoring: Proactively monitor customer machines, uptime alerts and connectivity issues and take action before small issues become bigger problems.
  • Technical support: Provide remote technical assistance to branches and customers across our NSW network.
  • Customer support: Help customers understand and get greater value from their machinery technology and digital tools.
  • Data & connectivity: Support customers and teams with platforms such as John Deere Operations Center and Property Center.
  • Team support: Work collaboratively with our branch technicians, service teams and wider TECSight team to deliver great customer outcomes.

What you’ll bring

You don’t need to be a Precision Ag expert when you start. We’re looking for strong technical foundations, curiosity and a willingness to learn. You’ll ideally have:

  • Experience as a qualified technician or in an agricultural, construction or forestry-related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of machinery repairs, maintenance and diagnostics.
  • The ability to interpret and follow Technical Manual procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • A customer-focused, solutions-oriented approach.
  • An interest in technology and a willingness to develop your knowledge of Precision Agriculture and connected machinery.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating closely with technicians, customers and branch teams.

Experience with John Deere machinery, AMS/Precision Ag technology or remote diagnostics will be highly regarded, but it isn’t essential. If you’re an experienced technician who enjoys solving problems and wants to develop your career beyond the workshop, we’d love to hear from you.

Flexible Location

Wagga Wagga is home to our dedicated TECSight Shared Resource Office, however we’re open to a flexible location for the right candidate. Depending on your experience and circumstances, you could be based from one of our 21 NSW branches or work remotely from home. The role will involve working collaboratively with branches and customers across NSW, along with participation in our rotational on-call roster, so strong communication and the ability to work effectively in a remote environment are important.

What we offer

  • Full-time position with a growing specialist technology team.
  • Flexible location options for the right candidate.
  • Participation in our monthly incentive scheme.
  • Ongoing John Deere technical and product training.
  • The opportunity to develop skills in Precision Agriculture, remote diagnostics and connected machinery.
  • A career pathway beyond the traditional workshop environment.
  • Staff discounts on John Deere parts, products, toys and merchandise.
  • The opportunity to work with one of Australia’s largest John Deere dealer networks.
  • Supportive team environment within a proud Australian family-owned business.
