Business Transformation Manager - Technology

Why we need you

We are looking for a Business Transformation Manager - Technology to join our Information Technology team and help shape and deliver the Marr Technology Operating Platform (MTOP).

This is a senior role with enterprise-wide influence. Working across Operations, Asset Management, Engineering, Finance, Commercial, Procurement, HSEQ, HR and Business Development, you will translate business priorities into integrated processes, systems, data and sustainable ways of working.

You will be accountable for:

Leading technology-enabled business transformation initiatives aligned to the MTOP roadmap

Driving current-state discovery, end-to-end process mapping and practical future-state design

Developing business cases, transformation roadmaps, implementation plans and measurable benefits

Improving asset lifecycle visibility, operational workflows, forecasting and management reporting

Coordinating business requirements for platform selection, system consolidation and implementation

Strengthening data ownership, quality, governance and the path towards a trusted single source of truth

Identifying valuable and responsibly governed opportunities for automation, analytics and AI

Building stakeholder ownership, readiness, adoption and capability across change initiatives

Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, you will work closely with senior leaders, process owners, subject matter experts and external partners. You will bring structure to complex problems, connect operational and financial needs, and help ensure technology investment delivers practical business value.

What we’re looking for

You are an experienced business transformation professional who can operate between strategy and delivery. You understand that successful transformation is not simply a technology implementation. It requires clear outcomes, well-designed processes, trusted data, strong governance and people who are ready to work differently.

You may come from business transformation, business analysis, operational improvement, finance transformation, enterprise systems or technology-enabled change. Experience in an asset-intensive or project-based environment will be highly regarded.

You know how to:

Translate complex business problems into clear options, requirements, decisions and delivery plans

Map current and future-state processes and clarify ownership, controls and decision rights

Influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams without relying on direct authority

Connect operational, asset, financial and technology considerations

Build credible business cases and track benefits, risks, dependencies and outcomes

Work effectively with technology teams, vendors, consultants and implementation partners

Lead change with practical communication, engagement, training and adoption plans

Balance commercial value, user needs, delivery practicality, security, privacy and risk

Your keys to success

Tertiary qualification in business, finance, commerce, technology, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience

At least five years' experience leading complex business transformation, operational improvement or technology-enabled change

Strong business analysis and process-improvement capability, including discovery, process mapping, requirements and change impact assessment

Commercial and financial acumen, with practical experience in business cases, budgeting, forecasting or management reporting

Experience working with operational and financial systems in an asset-intensive, project-based or similarly complex environment

Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, functional stakeholders, technical teams and external partners

Working knowledge of project and change governance, data governance, information security, privacy and risk management

Strong written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex issues clear

Experience in construction, infrastructure, engineering, mining, heavy lift, plant, equipment hire or another heavy-asset industry would be advantageous. Exposure to ERP, enterprise asset management, finance, reporting, integration, automation, business intelligence or responsibly governed AI initiatives would also be highly regarded.
