Job summary

Melbourne Water is seeking a Business Process Analyst for a 1-year fixed term. You will partner with teams to map end-to-end processes, identify opportunities for improvement and design practical, sustainable processes aligned with business needs.

You will challenge current ways of working, facilitate improvements and help establish a robust operating model. Key activities include documenting workflows, data flows, and rules; measuring performance with KPIs; and preparing implementation plans

About the Role

In this 1 years fixed term role as the Business Process Analyst, you will partner with teams across the organisation to understand how work is performed, identify opportunities for improvement and help design practical, sustainable processes aligned with business needs. You will analyse and map end-to-end processes, uncover performance gaps and turn complex information into clear insights and recommendations.

Working collaboratively with stakeholders, you will challenge existing ways of working, facilitate process improvement activities and support the development of consistent process architecture and operating model practices.

• Analysing and documenting existing processes, including workflows, data flows, and business rules.
• Identifying inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement in current processes through data analysis and stakeholder interviews.
• Constructively challenge the status quo and inspire new thinking
• Designing and documenting new and improved processes using process mapping software.
• Identifying the gaps between current processes and desired future state and proposing solutions to bridge those gaps.
• Defining key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the implemented processes and regularly reporting on progress to stakeholders.
• Preparing implementation plans to transition to the future state
• Build influential working relationships with subject matter experts from across the organisation to support the achievement of improvements
• Taking care of own and colleagues Health and Safety through identification and reporting of hazards and active involvement in improvement initiatives.

About you

You will be a curious and analytical professional who enjoys understanding how organisations operate and identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and customer outcomes. You will bring proven experience in business process analysis, continuous improvement or transformation environments, with the ability to map current-state processes, design future-state solutions and support successful implementation of change.

• Interpersonal skills and the ability to form robust and influential relationships
• Experience in the analysis and delivery of continuous improvement methodology and solution sets
• Experience gained from contributing to a business transformation or continuous improvement program
• Prior experience in identifying and implementing process automation opportunities would be highly regardedHigh level of analytical, research and problem-solving skills to provide value adding solutions and recommendations
• An understanding of the drivers and levers for delivering value with the ability to engage and influence outcomes at a senior level;
• Experience delivering outcomes in ambiguous and complex environments
• Experience in a role of significance within a business improvement program and a Tertiary degree in a relevant field required for this position.
