Job summary

Bluefin Resources Pty is assisting a leading retailer to hire a Business Improvement Lead who will simplify store operations across multiple locations.

You’ll map processes, analyze data and frontline input to develop a practical improvement roadmap, design operating rhythms and decision-making tools, and lead live environment improvements across sites.

Open to Sydney or Melbourne, hybrid role—3 days in the office.

Job description

A leading retailer is looking for a Business Improvement Lead to simplify how its stores operate and help leaders manage multiple locations effectively.

You’ll examine the processes, systems and ways of working that take time away from store leadership. Using data and input from frontline teams, you’ll identify the changes that matter most, build the case for them and lead their implementation.

In this role, you will:

• Map operational processes and identify bottlenecks, duplication and opportunities to simplify work.
• Use data, observation and stakeholder input to develop a practical improvement roadmap.
• Design clearer operating rhythms, decision-making frameworks and tools for multi-site leaders.
• Design, test and implement improvements in a live retail environment.
• Measure the impact on leadership capacity, store performance and team experience.

You’ll bring experience leading operational improvement or transformation in a complex, fast-paced operational environment. You will be able to quickly understand operational pain points and implement tangible change. Taking ownership of the discovery, strategy and implementation.

Strong process mapping, detailed data analysis and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.

A Lean background is required, and you will also have experience within retail or other operational environments such as manufacturing, supply chain, aerospace, aviation, mining etc. Candidates coming from a consultingbackground (within operational environments) may be well suited.

On offer is an initial 18 month fixed term contract, paying up to $185K + super, depending on previous experience.

Open to Sydney or Melbourne based candidates working a hybrid environment – 3 days per week in the office.
