As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and establishing a strong sales pipeline to support the company's ambitious expansion plans. This role is essential to our strategy and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the organisation's trajectory.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the maintenance and heavy industry sectors, developing and implementing targeted strategies to capture market share
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, acting as the primary point of contact for all business development matters
• Prepare and deliver compelling business proposals, presentations and tenders that clearly communicate our value proposition and technical capabilities
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs and growth opportunities
• Develop and manage a healthy sales pipeline, ensuring consistent progress towards revenue targets and business objectives
• Collaborate with internal teams including operations, engineering and senior management to ensure service delivery excellence and client satisfaction
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with new and existing clients to achieve mutually beneficial agreements
• Attend industry events, trade shows and networking functions to promote the company and generate leads
• Prepare regular reports on business development activities, pipeline status and market insights for management review

What we're looking for

• Proven track record of at least 5+ years in business development, sales or account management, preferably within the heavy maintenance, industrial, engineering or related sectors
• Demonstrated ability to successfully identify new market opportunities and convert leads into contracts
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in understanding and closing B2B sales in complex, technical environments
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and C-level executives
• Proficiency in workshop systems and sales tools, with strong organisation and time management abilities
• Knowledge of the heavy maintenance, mining, oil and gas, or manufacturing industries is highly desirable
• Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
• Tertiary qualification in business, sales, marketing or engineering preferred
